About our Immediate Past President….

Dr. (Prof.) RAJU VAISHYA is the Professor and Senior Consultant, Orthopaedic Surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, 1996. He is also the founder member of Indian Cartilage Society and has served it in various capacities like an EC member, Treasurer, and Secretary, before taking up the responsibility of President on 1st April 2018. He is also the life member of International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS).

Professor Vaishya is on the editorial board of several journals, like Indian Journal of Orthopaedics, Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics & Trauma and has more than 300 scientific publications to his credit, in various reputed National & International journals. He had published a special issue of Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Trauma, on Cartilage (https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/journal-of-clinical-orthopaedics-and-trauma/vol/7/issue/3). He has been the recipient of best paper publication awards of Delhi Orthopaedic Association and Apollo Hospital Education & Research Foundation, on several occasions.

Professor Vaishya has featured four times in the Limca Book of Records for his clinical achievements, including doing bilateral simultaneous total knee replacements in a 93 years old man. His recent academic interests include Cartilage Restoration Techniques and 3-D printing in Orthopaedics.
